Understanding isn’t always enough to change how it feels.

Perhaps you feel anxious, overwhelmed or exhausted from the effort of holding everything together, even when from the outside everything looks fine. Maybe you overthink, put other people first, or hold yourself to standards you’d never expect of anyone else. Perhaps you’ve spent a great deal of time thinking about how and why you feel this way, and have a good understanding of what you’d like to be different, yet somehow the same patterns keep returning.

I’m Thea, a UKCP-registered, trauma-informed psychotherapist. I work integratively with adults in person in Battersea and Putney, and online across the UK.

Specialisms

  • Anxiety & overwhelm

When you’re tired of holding everything together.

  • Patterns, relationships & self-worth

Perfectionism, people-pleasing and recurring patterns that can be difficult to shift.

  • Trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD

When past experiences continue to shape the way you feel and respond.

Change that begins below the surface

That’s why understanding a pattern perfectly well can still leave you living inside it.

Most of what keeps us stuck isn’t only held in the thinking mind. It can sit lower down, in a nervous system that learned, often a long time ago, what it needed to do to keep you safe, and may not yet have had reason to update.

Alongside talking, I can work with how experience is held in the body and with the patterns that sit beneath conscious awareness. My integrative approach to psychotherapy means I can draw on different therapeutic approaches and techniques depending on what feels most useful for you.

This might include:

  • Person-Centred Psychotherapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Clinical Hypnosis

  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

  • Eye Movement Reconsolidation (EMR)

  • Havening Techniques®

  • Polyvagal-informed approaches

  • IFS-informed Parts Work

Rather than following one model, we can tailor the work to you, whether you’re looking for focused support around something specific or want to explore longer-standing patterns in greater depth. We’ll find what feels most helpful for you and work at a pace that feels right.

About me

My commitment as a therapist is to be there alongside you, shoulder to shoulder. I aim to create a space where you feel truly listened to, supported and able to explore what you’re experiencing with compassion and without judgement.

I believe you bring your own strengths, resources and understanding to the therapeutic process. My role is to work alongside you, helping you make sense of what’s happening and explore what might help you move forward.

Everyone deserves to feel heard and understood, and therapy can offer a space to become curious about what’s going on, without judgement.
