ABOUT ME
About me
I came to psychotherapy by an indirect route.
After completing a BSc in Psychology, I spent more than two decades in the entertainment industry, representing and supporting creative professionals. It was work I found meaningful, but over time I found myself drawn back to the questions that had always interested me most - why we get stuck, what keeps patterns in place, and what actually helps people change.
Volunteering with a mental health charity, supporting people in crisis, made the decision to retrain straightforward. I’m a UKCP-registered, trauma-informed integrative psychotherapist, with a background in clinical hypnotherapy that continues to inform how I work.
What draws me to this work is the relationship between mind and body.
The way anxiety, stress and trauma don’t just live in our thinking but settle into the body itself, shaping how we breathe, how we sleep, how we move through the world. Much of what I work with has its roots in earlier experience: patterns, protective responses and ways of relating that made sense once, and may no longer be serving you.
Talking helps, but it isn’t always enough on its own. That’s why I work integratively, drawing on approaches that work both above and below the surface including Clinical Hypnosis, Havening Techniques, EMR, Polyvagal Theory and IFS informed Parts Work alongside more traditional psychotherapeutic approaches.
